Birthday/Christmas Trees!

On Sunday my baby turned 5! I can't believe Logan is that old. It has gone by way to fast. He was so excited for his birthday that he would ask me everyday how many days were left till his birthday...we had his birthday party on Saturday while the whole family was in town for our annual Christmas tree trip. the whole time we were on the mountain he was begging to go home so we could do his birthday.

It was a busy but great day. Now if I can just convince Quinton to let me put the tree up before Thanksgiving!!! Doubt he will but I will try anyway!

Stake Youth Fireside

The other night we had a Stake Youth fireside that decendants of Joseph and Emma's spoke at, at our stake center. I wasn't able to make it & am really bummed out about it. Everyone said it was very good. This was the opening song that a lady in our stake sang. The lady that spoke is their great great grandaughter. She talked about why the family left the church. She is one of the first to be baptized. She grew up not even knowing who Joseph Smith was, let alone a decendant of his. I just thought I would share this with you. ( thanks Amber for unknowingly letting me copy your blog!) Hope you like it :)

Octoberfest!

We started this Halloween off at Pinhursts Octoberfest.My mom works there and really enjoys it when she can have her grandkids at work! This year Kale wanted to dress as SnakeEyes from GI Joe & Logan choses Wolverine. They enjoyed being able to wear their costumes and enter the costume contest. Unfortunately they did not win but They both won in the pumpkin contest. Kale too biggest pumpkin in his age group & Logan took prettiest pumpkin in his group. They were very excited, They won a candy bouquet( & they ate it all the same day!!!)

Family Pics!

This last weekend we braved the cold to get some Family Pics....Here is a few of them!

Swimming!

We signed Kale & Logan up for swimming lessons despite the fact that they did not want to go.
They are scared to death of the water. Whenever we go boating they will not get into the water if they can't touch bottom and swimming pools .....no fun! So we decided it was time to put an end to the drama. They have been in lessons for almost a month now. Logan is doing much better now. he will go underwater without hesitation! Kale is absolutely loving it! He would go everyday if I'd let him. He told me that I better sign him up for next month or I would be "The worst mom Ever!" It's amazing how young they pick up those phrases.

Update....

Ryker had surgery on Saturday to move his chest tube and add a second tube since his lung wasn't getting any better. We saw him Last night and he looked sooooo much better. He is starting to make some progress. He will have a long road to recovery but hes getting there a little bit at a time. I'm not sure he has learned anything from this though. He was telling us last night that he couldn't wait to get out of the hospital so he can go hunting :)
